Inevitably you already know and love the KA-BAR USMC fighting knife. I keep mine next to my bed every night (I mean really, who is going to mess with me if they come into my room at night and I'm holding a KA-BAR?). But have you seen the short version? It looks so small compared to the full-sized version, but that just makes it more portable and since the blade is 5 1/4", it is legal to carry in public in Texas. (I am not an authority on state knife laws. Check the Texas laws here)
