A-TACS

Doubtless you already know about A-TACS. There is so much gear with that pattern its incredible. Well in November A-TACS got a new baby brother: A-TACS FG. The Forest Green version was created using the same groundbreaking techniques as the original A-TACS but is designed for colors found in temperate climates. Hunters, this may just become your new favorite (if youre ready to give up on leaves).

In case you dont already know, heres the difference between A-TACS and traditional digicam like ARPAT and MARPAT. Digicam uses micropatterns of square pixels for a distortion effect. This works at shorter distances, but these pixels do not reflect the organic shapes, forms, and shadows of the environments in which they are deployed. Sharp angles and limited use of the nuances of natural colors makes digicam easier to detect. The repetitive pattern also creates visual noise, making the camouflage look like a solid color from a distance.

A-TACS enhances the ability of the wearer to remain hidden in any environment, but A-TACS FG is especially designed for use in forested environments. It does this by replacing square pixels with organic ones and using a vast range of digitally sampled natural colors to accurately mimic real-world environments. What really sets A-TACS apart is its pattern within a pattern. Unlike any other camouflage system, A-TACS uses small patterns to create larger shapes, which are then organized into a pattern without horizontal or vertical orientation. This revolutionary concept breaks the human outline when viewed at a distance, avoiding the dangerous tendency of other camouflages to stand out as a single color.
