GearGuide Entry: Searching for Great Tactical Boots? Check These Out

FEET DON'T FAIL ME NOW

Man how many times have I double-timed across the Air Assault Pad at Ft. Campbell, Ky or climbed the Zugspitz in Garmische, Germany mumbling that cadence under-breath. The truth is, any soldier knows right next to your stomach and being fed, your feet are the most important concern in being able to complete any mission.

Boot Types
I have worn everything from Jungle boots, Cochrans, H&H, Mickey Mouse (at least that's what we called the extreme cold weather boots) issued in Germany to straight leg generic basic trainee Army issue. Now don't get me wrong they all serve a purpose and are usually adequate. But when I got my first pair of Gortex boots I had just found the amazing best tactical boots I had ever seen, worn or even dreamed of.

The Lowa Combat GTX and Mountain GTX Boot
Lowa has taken 90 years of expertise and developed by far the best boot on the market. Whether the higher combat full grain leather uppers or the lower cut mountain design these boots are quality made.

Lowa Combat and Mountain Boot Features
Full grain leather triple and quadruple stitched. Gortex lining for best breath-ability, waterproof, windproof and overall comfortable. A 5mm shank with inserts in the vibram sole for prevention of various foot problems and an overall stable gait. Polyurethane mid-soles, these boots simply last 2-5 times longer than the competition. The cemented attachment allows for sole replacement and the tread is specifically designed to grip rocks and tree roots for less slippage.

European Made
It just makes sense folks. The need for a good high-altitude climbing boot that can withstand heavy packs for long periods of time has just been greater for more years in Europe than America. The Europeans had to develop a great boot that could withstand the demands of the terrain they had to traverse. These are the singularly amazing best tactical boots you can find. They cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. They far outlast and exceed the closest competition for tactical footwear.
