CRAFTED BY CAROLINA HANDS - The last true American sock brand
Thorlos have been made in the USA since 1953... and always will be. That is our guarantee to you. All of our yarns are spun in the United States and our sock products are hand crafted in the Carolinas.Your feet will feel better or your money back.
Since different fibers have different characteristics, it's important to choose the right fiber; or combination of fibers when creating a yarn for the given activity.
Thorlon Acrylic
Thorlon trademark acrylic yarns are exclusively developed for our Thorlos construction. "Trapped" perspiration in the shoe environment tends to "flatten" or crush common acrylic yarns. Thorlon acrylics are specially spun to maintain both softness and resilience, which maximizes foot comfort, blister protection and product durability.
Coolmax
INVISTA manufactures this fiber with a unique four-channeled cross section that produces a soft, cotton-like yarn with such superior moisture transport qualities that skin temperatures prove perceptibly cooler in comparison yarn testing. Thorlos with Coolmax provide excellent blister protection while keeping you comfortably cool. Thorlos generally uses more CoolMax in its sock designs than other sock products.
Thermolite
Thermolite by INVISTA is an excellent wicking fiber designed with an air-trapping hollow cross section that produces amazingly warm and comfortable OUTDOOR and SKI Thorlos Thermolite protects against overheating and keeps you warm even when wet with perspiration.
Nylon
Introduced by DuPont in the 1940's as a "miracle" fiber, stretch nylon makes everything we do possible. Multiple size ranges, good fit and shape retention, along with durabilty, are key contributions made by various types of continuous filament nylon.
Wool/Thorlon
This performance fiber blend is intended for active cold climate use. Designed for improved blister protection and comfort without sacrificing significant insulating properties of natural wool. The addition of 50% Thorlon acrylic improves loft, resiliency and greatly enhances moisture management qualities that 100% wool yarns alone cannot provide.
