TACTICAL SLEEPING BAGS

As we have continued to develop our products to face the toughest of challenges, the TACTICAL SERIES range of sleeping bags has evolved as a result of high demand from the military and Special Forces for highly efficient and reliable equipment. The Tactical's are manufactured in the UK using the strongest durable fabrics and highly compressible and lightweight Softie Insulation to give you the performance you require. Other features include T.S.1 Thermal Suede lining, pillow pocket at head position to fit Snuggy pillow, compression stuff sack, snugfit hood, zip baffle, hanging dry tabs and anti-snag two way zip. Three temperature ranges to choose from covering 2, 3 and 4 seasons.

SOFTIE PREMIER

As part of our continuing development process to keep our synthetic insulation at the leading edge, we are pleased to introduce the next generation in sleeping bag technology. Softie Premier uses the same basic principles as traditional Softie but improvements in extrusion technology and binding resins result in a finer, softer and more durable insulation.

SOFTIE

The brand name for the synthetic (Polyester) filling we use for the Softie range of sleeping bags. Though officially described as superfine high thermal, the factory nickname quickly found its way onto the bags themselves. It uses superfine yarns bound with special resins to produce a luxurious down like feel. The yarns used are staple yarns as they are in natural insulations (as opposed to continuously extruded as in most synthetic fills) and a mixture of different yarn processes are applied to give a more random effect, that is some are curled, some crimped and some are just left as they are. The random nature of the process results in a product that closely resembles the structure of the natural down and the way it performs. Given all this technology, Softie is still easy to care for, washable, yet still retaining a lot of its thermal properties when wet.

TS1

Thermal suede is lightweight polyester with a sueded finish which uses a combination of yarns with different thicknesses. Microfibre yarns (less than 1 decitex) go on the outside and Macrofibre (3 decitex) go on the inside. The Macro fibre yarns are raised to produce a short pile, similar in feel to Suede. The construction exploits a basic physical property - that water will always move from a low to high surface area or from the Macro to Micro filament yarns, thus moving water from the body towards the outside of the bag.

Reflectatherm

Reflectatherm layer - "Space Age technology in a down to earth application."

This metallised fabric is designed to reflect heat and retain warmth. A highly breathable material, which adds little to the weight or pack size of the product and provides at least 15% additional warmth while being undetectable by touch in the sleeping bag or garment. Currently used in our Elite, Chrysalis, Black Tactical, Premier, Softie 3, Special Forces 1 and Antarctica RE sleeping bags and the Softie Smock.

PARATEX XTREME

As the name suggests, this fabric is used on the cream of snugpak products giving a great balance between aesthetics and performance.
