What's not to like? November 15, 2011

I have a shop, so I'm on a concrete floor all day, and the Converse boots make excellent work boots. On the weekends I'm usually out shooting, camping or doing something outdoors, and once again they perform admirably. Comfortable, lightweight with almost no break in. Whats's not to like.

I am currently stationed in Djibouti, Africa. These boots compared to the one's issued to Navy personnel are outstanding!  Well worth the money paid!  There was only one thing that kept me from giving it five starts and that is after about two months of downrange use the sole on one of the boots started to come unglued.  Other than that these boots are superior in build, comfort and even looks!  Everyone I see who is new here I highly recommend them to buy these boots or the safety toe version!  Everyone who has taken my advice and has bought these boots can't say enough about the comfort!  Converse really hit the jackpot when they made these boots!  I like these so much I am going to buy the black nine inch safety toe boots for when I get back on ship!

Affordable boot, Some Drawbacks May 1, 2009

I have used this boot in many different scenarios, ranging from PT to Security Services. I would not suggest this boot for PT because of the tread on the bottom of the boot. This boot is mainly meant for Police/Security type applications. People that are on their feet all day, and have the occasional foot chase. I have also heard good things about these boots from my friends in Iraq. As long as you take care of them they will do just fine! If it is absolutely necessary that you use this boot for PT purposes, I would recommend either Arch Molds insoles or Thick boot socks (Thorlos). I have a combination of both in this boot and it works wonders! This boot also runs about a half size too small. I would recommend getting a size 10 if you wear a 9 1/2!
