Not Bad for a retention holster |

T What is not readily visible from the pictures is that the trigger guard area on this holster is extremely wide - not as concealable as a traditional pancake holster. Belt slots are a bit bigger than 1.5" (I'm not sure why DeSantis doesn't publish this anywhere). I found that the trigger guard retention device gets in the way of a full firing grip. I was able to modify it with a sanding drum and dremel tool to work properly with about 45 minutes time. One wonders why DeSantis didn't do better research (like letting shooters use it before they sold it as is). This would be a good security holster for relatively low profile of concealed carry but would be better suited for plain clothes open carry. The retention devise works quite well. Try as I might, I could not break the device. A niche market for this holster might be those states which permit concealed carry, but require open carry in certain areas.
