This product is 6oz per square yard and will therefore provide superior flash as well as thermal protection. It also wicks and breathes extremely well, aided by a high tech mesh design. 2.) We have chosen to categorize it as Flame Resistant at the advice of our attourneys, but it could easily be categorized as Flame Retardant, as the fiber manufacturer does (www.kanecaron.com); additionally, we are the only manufacturer of this product, as of the time the military lab tests were done who are using F.R. thread and transfers, and 100% inherently F.R. fabric with no synthetic (or melt/drip) yarns. 3.) The long and short sleeve shirts incorporate "Clean Seam Technology." In other words, they have no horizontal or crossing seams whatsoever, no seams under pack straps or ballistic vests to rub the wearer raw... this is a huge design advantage and is patent pending technology. 4.)This is NOT Nomex. It seems that many, if not most, service people have a sour taste in their mouth about Nomex; comments about how it doesn't breathe, wick, or dry well, and is itchy/scratchy. This product feels like washed cotton and breathes and wicks/dries almost as well as our super wicking high tech Phase 1 garments.
